Music Style: A cross section of underground House and Techno ranging from deep and laidback to dirty dancefloor.

Biography: I initially started DJ’ing at the age of 13. My early experiences were mainly found through hijacking equipment of accommodating local DJ’s who I knew had records and turntables. From these beginnings I fell in love with the art of DJ’ing and seriously collecting music.

Although I have always enjoyed an eclectic music collection, I was initially booked primarily as a drum and bass and hip hop DJ under the name A-Flex. Playing these styles of music I have been lucky to play as a guest and resident DJ at a number of different clubs, bars and parties for various promoters as well as organising club nights myself. From this base I also began producing music and released my first 12’ through Reflex Audio recordings in 2006.

After this period I began following house and techno much more closely. I loved the music and felt very at home with the more positive culture I found at club events. I went on to produce several well-received mix tapes, play guest spots and gain my first residency under my real name Alex Rafter.

Incorporating my skills as a producer my DJ sets often include exclusive edits and remixes that provide for a unique performance. With a wealth of quality music in my record box and passion to match, I am keen to share the fruits of my obsession with party goers everywhere.
