@alexpfeffer: Awesome, that's answers my question very clearly - it's the same approach I take with 99% of my input (hardly ever piano roll stuff) but I wondered if drums were an exception. Glad to know, thanks for replying :)

@Oliver Sadie: Oliver, I apologize for not coming back but as Michael says, I am damn busy currenly and I especially in this week I have to save every minute I have :) ... yes, this is how I do it. I play it all on my Maschine controller or on the keyboard and then quantize them slightly and leaving some human feel. Almost everytime I go into the MIDI tracks and process everything to let it sound a bit more realistic! Thx for your interest!

I'd be interested to know how much of this was punched in on a keyboard and how much was piano-rolled. Because it's tricky with percussion - on the one hand you want tight rhythms, on the other hand you want an organic feel. Is your approach to play manually and part-quantize, or to piano-roll and part-randomise?
