About
Alex Lamy is a composer for films, video games and television, who recently completed his degree in Music Commercial Composition and Technology (BSc) at the University of Hertfordshire (1st Class Honours). He is currently studying on a masters course in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music, London.
His orchestral writing skill has also been used to accompany the music of other artists, recently pairing with the metal group 'GraVil', for their track 'March of the Titans' and 'Sanity Valve' for an introduction to their album 'Quite Good Rocket Launcher Music'.
Alex is influenced by almost every film composer from the 50s to the present day, as well as a vast amount of Classical material and more recent Jazz and Metal music. He is able to appreciate and learn from music spanning from the magical music of John Williams and the carefully crafted symphonies of Aaron Copland, Stravinsky and Handel, all the way to the dark and chaotic tones of Dimmu Borgir to the angelic sounds of Eric Whitacre's choral works.
