In March 2011 I had 27hours of surgery (mostly head surgery) and went deaf. At the time I had no idea if it was only temporary or permanent. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to comprehend. Thinking that it may be permanent, I tried to make music and managed to make half a track. This is what I made. I havent finished, edited, or done anything to it since getting my hearing back 2 months later.

@Greenjah: I had 27hours of major head surgery in march last year and one of the scars goes from behind each ear and across my hairline. The swelling from the scars and operations caused me to lose my hearing. I only started getting it back in the beginning of May the same year. Was a terrifying and horrible experience in all honesty.

@Hurtdeer: Its how I've taught myself to produce, relying on knowing the root notes in my head and on certain instruments and analysing visual spectrograms to see where the frequencies are and should be for certain instruments, etc. I've only listened to it twice since getting my hearing back and it sounded a little different in my head but I suppose it could have come out alot worse! <3

This reminds me of a PBS documentary I saw a while back. "the Music Instinct" It touches a great deal on deaf musicians.

@[ZANE]: going deaf has always been my biggest fear so when I taught myself production I tried to learn it in a way that I could still do it even if that happened.
