“Grand Cru“ is a familiar term in the wine business and often denominates a special wine, which is made from the best grapes of either one wine-producing area or one vintage.

In this figurative sense, we present the third edition of our compilation series, which started successfully in 2007. We gently refined this year’s selection to find a versatile mixture of handpicked gems. At the same time, this compilation boasts of a representative choice of artists who have already released on Connaisseur, as well as up-and-coming new talents and skilful purveyors of fine electronic music.

This year’s vintage is the most diverse and comprehensive selection so far. 20 tracks ranging from listening to floor-rockin, both single-minded and detached from all zeitgeisty tendencies. Apart from Connaisseur’s own Afrilounge, Chymera, Pol_On, Daso (this time teaming up with Israeli singer Ofrin), ZoëXenia, Estroe, Patrick Chardronnet, Sebastian Roya, Alex Flitsch meets Butch and Martin Beume, we have three newcomers in the selection: The Portuguese young bloods Cleymoore and Himan and the music-making winemaker Florian Hollerith from one of the best wine areas in Germany: the Palatinate, all of them promising artists with unique styles.

Also on board Scandinavia’s hot new act Of Norway, Green Empire’s Franklin de Costa, London legend DJ Assassin, Finnland’s finest Roberto Rodriguez, up and rising Welshman Tom Demac, Drum n Bass hero Dee Pulse (with his first 4-to-the–floor release) and last but not least Hamburg’s own 2XR.
