Alexandar Hadjiev was born in 1987 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the year of 1997 he starts his first Bassoon studies in the National School of Music "L. Pipkov" Sofia in the class of Peter Kocev. 2001 he won the Youth Music Talents Competition in Sofia. 2002 he plays in ADI Quintett, where they make recordings for the Bulgarian National Radio and the Bulgarian National Television. In the same year he started to play in the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra Sofia and the Sofia New Symphonic Orchestra. In 2006 he is the winner of the International Competition Young Virtuosos, Sofia. 2005 – 2006 Alexandar Hadjiev composed the background music for the Bulgarian National Television.
In 2006 he continues his bassoon studies in the Folkwang University Essen in the class of Malte Refardt. 2007 and 2008 he received a scholarship from "Alfred and Clare Pott". And in 2010 Alexandar receives the opportunity to play on the Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China with Young Euro Classics. In the same year he takes part at the International Ensemble Modern Academy with Heinz Holliger. In Season 2010/2011 Alexandar becomes a guest musician in the Städtische Bühnen Münster for the Kinder Oper Projekt "Moses muss Singen". 2011 receives the oportunity to play in the WDR3 Open Auditions.
In 2011/2012 becomes a member of International Ensemble Modern Academy - Frankfurt.
Alexandar Hadjiev also plays with the Altstadt Herbs Festival Orchester, Folkwang Kammerorchester and the Sinfonietta Köln. He took part in the workshops of Sergio Azzolini, Georg Kliutsch, Gustavo Nunez, Henrick Rabien, Thomas Ludes, Johannes Schwarz, Gyorgy Lakatos, und Ole-Kristian Dahl.
Alexandar takes part in different projects, which are not only connected with music, but also different arts. He is producing and composing electronic music and is working with dancers, djs, actors and other artists.
