Stats for this track
This track started life as a little soul/funk mash up that I used to do live in my DJ sets. When I decided to put it on one of my mixtapes I thought I should tidy it up a little and this is what came out in the end.
You can download the whole mixtape i made it for at http://www.alexwhat.com/The_Jazzhole_Mixtape.html
It's essentially the Turn on Some Music acapella, shuffled around a bit and laid over a beefed up version of the Brothers on The Slide riff with a few snippets of Marvins interview on the TV show Soul Train. In this form its still a soul song, so i’ve managed to control my itchy fingers and avoid scratching all over it.
I wouldn’t normally be cheeky enough to try and remix a Marvin Gaye track, they are beautiful pieces of art that shouldn’t be really be messed with. I’d rather hear the original acapella version of this over my one anyday, but you can’t exactly drop it in a club! So I put together this version to give it a little funk and make it a little more crowd friendly. I hope Marv ain’t too mad.
If you dig it, please leave a comment. cheers.
