BIO OF ALEX OVER

British Label Head, DJ and Producer, Alex Over, is a 23 year old, born in Brighton and currently based in London. His passion is electronic music.

With the early influences of DJ’s such as Simian Mobile Disco, James Zabiela, Richie Hawtin through to the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Alex has evolved, and now creates and produces his own sound and style of music. He has, in 2012 set up his own label, Over Recordings, and his debut EP release, Freedom, already featuring on Beatport, has been given support by some of the industry’s most prestigious, elite talents such as Dubfire, Seth Troxler, MANDY, Terry Francis and Ian Pooley, to name but a few. Freedom has had enormous reviews, being featured not only on Germany’s DJ Mag home page, giving it an 8/10, but also listed alongside Maya Jane Coles! It is being widely played on radio stations across Europe, Ibiza and the US, resulting in Alex being asked to do a guest mix for Ibiza Sonica Radio.

As a live performer on the decks, Alex can edit tracks, make twists and create his own sounds on the fly. Alex cannot be associated with only a single genre. Every one of his performances is unique - inspired by each individual audience. Alex proved his talents as a DJ at a young age, performing in Brighton’s leading weeknight, Trash Mondays at Coalition, moving on to establish himself on the London Club Scene, playing in venues such as Ministry of Sound, The Lightbox, Raduno and Gigalum, not forgetting boat parties along the Thames. In addition, during this exiting progression in Alex’s portfolio, Alex was 
selected to be one of only ten’ DJ’s to perform in the heats for The Shakedown Festival in Brighton, and took part in Steve Lawler’s remix competition and the remix competition held by Timo Mass.

Alex’s passion for electronic music is intense. His future plans are to continue pushing the boundaries, as a Label Head, Producer and a DJ, performing at a host of exciting venues in the later part of 2012, along with creating new tracks throughout. This is only the start and a lot more to come from Alex.

In short, Alex although young, is an experienced, enthusiastic Producer and DJ, with a true love for music, and now, with his own label, this is what Alex is truly about.
