helllllll yes. dude, awesome tool. this would be a massive way to take a set from deep and heady to "get the fuck up and start dancing."
- Mr. Squirrel on June 08, 2009 15:38
@michael j. collins: totally agreed. it focuses all of that deep tech energy into a straight up hauntingly vibrant call to the floor.

massive jam. i love this track dude. deep and dubby to be sure, but also clear as glass and wholly enjoyable as a listen, or a thundering club tool. Top work sir!

like the way there is a tension being built up here by the underlying dark groove and fritters weird vox-riff, and this holllow percussion rythmn your bringing in, which is quite uplifting and nice.....wicked stuff

So many subtle, interesting sounds in this track, another goodie mate... the clapping really adds that regal touch to it... Love this track. So relaxing.

oh man!!!!! I love this.......reminds me of some really nice deep house that came out on hed kandi, back in 01, on their beach house compilation - before they gto bought by ministry of sound, and turned into corporate perveyors of cheesey disco house. But yea, this is utterly, utterly sublime. Soothing my soul so nicely!!!
- alex james on March 04, 2009 10:21
@Rich Jones: thanks mate- always appreciate you taking the time to listen and leave such great feedback. ill have to check out some of those compilations and dig up some gold

and regarding my previous comment, i recommend hunting down the original beach house compilation on hed kandi - very similar atmospheric deep house to this cut, very soothing and groovy. Lush tune mate, nice work!!!!

sounds fantastic, alex. the minor adjustments make for a perfectly paced, zoned-out piece of electronic music. the rhodes/electric piano or whatever it is is just sublime. would be a MASSIVE set opener.

upon second listen i immediately begin swimming again... don't know if this is the compression or what, but i think i'd like to hear a bit of a smoother rounder touch subbier kick here. and maybe a bit of a crisp of the clap. give it a bit of spit polish. THAT is my thing though, these sounds are class....!
- alex james on February 08, 2009 03:10
@Mr. Squirrel: Thanks mate, your honest, intelligent and constructive feedback is extremely appreciated and i will now set about having another look and listen over those areas that you have suggested and see what i can come up with. I had originally left the clap out but thanks to advice from mr Fritter i added one and i should probably have spent a little more time thinking about placement and different levels throughout the song.
- Mr. Squirrel on February 08, 2009 03:23
@alex james: :D honestly mate i would not worry about placement. sounds to me like your gut made some fucking shatteringly clever decisions. i only think it might help your placement sound more like honest to god YES THAT IS WHERE I PUT THIS CLAP BEEYOTCH placement. this is a massively amazing track though mate. believe when i say i love this one!!

mate this is DEEP. lovely soupy thick vibrations. AND as i type a hi hat has just heralded a bit of a build do my ears detect?! wonderful pacing and truly inspired lush scape. i am grooving spaciously

love the key work. still perhaps some of these tones could be slightly more pad focused to build a bit more layered melody/harmony concept? like that chord cycle as a clean pad and your more improvisational key work would become embossed against the mix perhaps. you'd have to play around come to think of it it was just my initial (upon the second listen) idea...hehe

this is even better and more rewarding than just a simple build. this is subconsciously swirling. it is to me one of those tracks that i just know i will feel a gut blow when it ends as i've grown so fond of the space. i really really love this cut mate!
