Never actually intended for release, this collection of eight songs comprises a quarter of an hour of poorly recorded but numinous demos by one of the finest, artiest British rock groups of the "noughties". The core of the band, which seemed always on the verge of collapse, was vocalist Rod Hunt and guitarist James Baxter who, with various collaborators, produced dozens of intense, intelligent songs over a very few years before disappearing into obscurity. The lyrics are startlingly brilliant and volatile, the performances entirely to the point, the songs altogether unusual even when sticking to known forms. Beautiful cover art by James. A wonder.
