About
My musical taste comes from the land of the best coffee in the world, a place which over the last 20 years has developed a solid underground / club culture, a scene I've been always proud to be part of.
I've been working the decks for more more than a decade now, firstly in my hometown Bogotá using vinyl, then moving into new technologies while travelling the world.
Those of you familiar with the scene in Bogotá will remember the well-respected music outlet, Antifona, and the former Tropical Cocktails, both of which I boasted party sets during the late 90s.
More recently, I had the pleasure to be part of the line-up at the "Revolver Club" in March 09. During the 2010, I Supported my colleague Djs as well as our collective 'HI-WHITE' @ 'Lov Club Bogotá' and also at THE-END 'PISO 30'. I soaked up the sun while playing at the Caribbean in Cartagena City.
My debut in Australia took place at the 'City Hotel' in Sydney with a series of first class events in 2010 for the acclaimed SHIMMY Nights and also for FAVELA Club.
Not only contributing to the rich mix of sounds, I also provide all the visual and graphic detail that goes into the HI-WHITE Collective.
Originally, I am fan of classic pop and electronica like Erasure, Herbie Hancock, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk. My taste matured with technical prowess, and these days I like to cite Nick Warren, Sasha, Digweed, Sven Väth, Seaman, Carl Cox, and Danny Howells as my major influences; more recently, DJs like Masiello, Lawler, The Timewriter and Jimmy van M. In other words, players with personality, not just beats.
Some of the producers I admire, are Peter Horrevorts, Guy J, Maceo Plex, Ripperton, Minilogue, Gui Boratto; the Germans: Robert Babicz, Tigerskin, Rodriguez Jr, Kolombo among many.
My rhythmic sets bring an underlying carnival-like atmosphere to the dance floor, while presenting a deep, melodic and eclectic range of House, Tech House and drops of Techno - some tribal, Deep, Funky and occasionally Progressive.
I've recently moved to Melbourne attracted by its magical atmosphere and culture; I am quite sure I will see you all out there in any of my upcoming gigs...stay tuned!
