About
While residing outside of Cleveland, Ohio, well before dedicating himself to the turntables and mixing board, Alan honed his skills on multiple instruments from keyboards to strings, spending several years gaining valuable classical guitar training while simultaneously finding a harder edge on the electric guitar. Alan went on to perform in and around the Ohio State University as a guitarist, where he attended the university. Collaboration with the Columbus, Ohio-based record label Datapanik Records led to the inclusion of his work, along with 30 other local and national acts, on a double CD tribute to the seminal avant-garde rock band Pere Ubu.
Alan's interest in electronic music began in the late 80s listening to music by the likes of Kraftwerk, The Orb, & 808 State, and industrial acts such as NIN, Ministry & KMFDM. It was not until the early 90s when he was first introduced to proper house and techno - and the art of DJing - where he established himself in the US Midwest rave scene supporting events from Detroit to Pittsburgh.
Now based out of Miami, Florida, Alan dedicates himself to producing original material and remixing tracks spanning the genres of house and techno, with a string of EPs and remixes released most recently on San Francisco-based Cable Recordings. Alan regularly guests DJs various radio programs throughout the world, including In Session with Product One Music out of Buenos Aires, and performs in underground lounges & clubs throughout Miami & South Florida, which has included warm-up spots for Chicago tech-house masters Mazi and Terry Mullan, and annual artist showcases during the legendary Winter Music Conference.
Never complacent, Alan continues to evolve his production style to satisfy the thirst for new and creative material, as heard on his 2008 debut release - Almost There EP on Next Dimension - with the unconventional incorporation of guitars and break beats. His DJ sets are geared toward creating a great vibe through impeccable programming and seamless mixing skills, weaving through genres from tech-house & techno to deep-tech & acid house, staying true to his roots in electronic music.
