Once again the sun escapes beneath the mountain peaks
The owls and the bats begin their day

Once again my body rests between some dirty sheets
My head against a perfect pillow lay

Once again the sun's reflection hangs among the stars
A mirror floating on a pitch black lake

Once again reminding that this present time of dark
Is passing as I think myself awake

The night is here but I'm not sleeping

It's getting late, it's almost early the sun will be back soon
For hours now the world ain't said a thing
