About

I have always had a love for music. For as long as I can remember, music has been, and always will be the only form of expression that can cross language, political, racial and even religious boundaries. As a child, I always felt drawn to the emotions that music could bring out in you at any time and any place. I will always thank God for the gift of music and I want to use his gift to give back in some way.

As a founding member of the band Far Too Jones who at times shared the stage with great acts like Hootie and the Blowfish, Train, Seven Mary Three, The Connells, The Black Crowes, Widespread Panic, and even Bob Dylan, I intended on becoming successful. I quickly found out that the love for music that drew me into being “in the business” was fading away and I then became a slave to “the business”. For years after a very disappointing end to my writing, recording and performing career, I had thought that there was no longer a place for the music. At that time, it was only an illusion of a better life and would only let me down again. For years, I never even touched a guitar or attempted to write. My father-in-law even noticed and worried that I was wasting my ability and pleaded with me to think of different ways to utilize my talents.

And then, there was that day.

One Sunday afternoon, after attending a service at West Market Street United Methodist Church in my hometown of Greensboro,NC, I was touched by a renewed Spirit and Faith. Soon, a creative flow was back and stronger than ever and I give all the credit to God. There is no other explanation than the Holy Spirit giving me a purpose to get a message to those in need….much like I was in need. I started to realize that my talent had not been serving anyone and it would be a sin to sit quietly when I had work to do. My strive to become rich and famous as a musician in the past now was seen as an empty endeavor that carried no real purpose. My purpose now was simply to use the music for His purpose. My only plan now is to continue to listen for direction, hope for the ability to continue to serve, and glorify God………with His help, I pray.
