32 Plays3 Comments1 Favoriting Score Orchestral mp3I wrote this for a friend to use in the trailer of her documentary, "Campania In-Felix." She's a very talented filmmaker and I'm honored for the opportunity. I really enjoyed writing this one. It was a challenge, as she needed something similar to the music already in the trailer (linked). htt... - Coastline Artwork

23 Plays2 Comments Score mp3I was inspired by some beautiful scenery on one of my trips around Wellington, NZ, so I wrote some music. It's tracks like this that make me wish I had a full orchestra at my disposal that would play me my musics. Synthy strings just get under my skin, but it'll have to do for now. I'd love... Hey, what's the Kalimba-like instrument? is it electronic? Very nice.
- akenanmanson on June 19, 2009 18:21
@Solaremusic: Thanks, man. That is very kind. If you mean the kinda twangy instrument playing the melody (mostly in the 2nd half), it's actually a combination of 2 different guitars: a dobro/resonator guitar & a scoopy/weird other kind haha. Yes they're electronic.

@akenanmanson: Nice combo man

A track from the original score I had the pleasure to compose for a friend's Grad-Thesis Documentary, entitled "Twinmates". It's better LOUD.@AndrewKManson - The Song That Never Was (Imogen Heap) Uploaded by akenanmanson Start following Send a message on April 14, 2009 18:16

This sounds very much like something Imogen would actually do. Nicely done!

It's like some kind of minimalist style. I think you get the most out of the track with very little sounds, that's very cool. And a lot of work went into this as well, I seem to hear. Good work sir!

@kraxripper: That's a spectacular compliment. Thank you very much.

@AndrewKManson akenanmanson@gmail.com This is getting ridiculous, I'm sure. I've now uploaded three tracks because i don't know what I'm doing. The 1st one didn't load correctly and they fixed it a month later. The 2nd one i saved as private b/c that was the automatic setting if i w...@AndrewKManson - The Song That Never Was (Imogen Heap) Uploaded by akenanmanson Start following Send a message on April 13, 2009 06:07

so peaceful! quite NZ haha. i think these strings sound very real the only thing that would help is to 'play' them like a real musician would. so make sure that each note ends about an 8th or 16th note before the next note begins. At least on occasion. Also give the strings a mild reverb that would resemble a recording studio. Other than that, i would love to hear the piano play a theme in a higher octave really quietly. that's just cuz you asked for suggestions, but i love it just the way it is :D
@vukmaster: That's awesome. Seriously, thanks. I always like input from other musicians. I'll mess around with it a little, with your suggestions. Hope all's well. Thanks again, man.
