About
Waltz for Luma from YouTube / Sirius from vgmusic / little Aivi in a very big universe. I play piano and love putting notes together, sometimes to tell stories and sometimes just to make noise!

@McTricky: Thanks a lot! I'm glad it comes off that way.
Awesome track! This is lovely, and the beat is killer.
@TomCarty: Thank you very much!
So catchy! Love this!
Smiling so hard. Love this remix!
Really like this intro :)
Kevin, this is gorgeous!
Love this track - space sounds and 7ths, my kinda groove!
What an uplifting piece, and congratulations! I feel READY FOR ADVENTURE
@tacopizzamusic: This is Lily! She's great. I'm the person saying "we're going downtown" and singing at the end (I won't deny that my voice is awful, but that's okay, it's all just for fun!)
@Joe Schwebke: Thank you so much, Joe!
Yes, Anthony wrote the entire guitar part. I merely provided chords and he did the rest!
Soooo cute. LOVE IT
WOW. I absolutely love this track. It's determined, vibrant, and takes surprising turns both rhythmically and harmonically - excellent work!
Shannon, you are so amazing. Really evocative - I feel like I'm there, too!
Edgy and beautiful. Love it! This piece is so cool, Zack!
Ahh, I love Sabrielle's work! Such a simple but pretty piece.
@Dentelle127: I got the Mario Golf vibe, too! But of course it still has a very unique sound to it :) Awesome piece and wonderful energy, Joe. Love it!

@Anthony Morgan: Thank you, Anthony!
I think it's good to have a sense of humor in music and to do what comes naturally to you. I like this piece a lot and think it's nicely executed for a live-performed electronic piece! That being said, I'd also love to hear a polished version of this, maybe with a little quantize love on the drums sprinkled with some ever-slightly offbeat notes to retain the human quality you have here. I think there's a lot of potential for something cool there. Nice work!
Love this chord change. So striking. I really dig the swelling sounds in the back, too - your pieces (this and Deep-Hidden Woods) have such a cool ambience and unique sound!
@DJDRocco: Thank you so much! It conveniently fits my style, so it is not as impressive a feat as I'd like to pretend, but I'm super appreciative of the fact that you noticed <3
@Chris T Geehan: It is the only way a trumpet should ever be played.
@seronoise It has some reverb on it, and the entire piece is also time-stretched... the woes of live recording!
Love that feeling, when a piece feels "true" to you. This piece is really beautiful! The moving harmonies and airy sounds strike me with quiet resolve and hopefulness.
@SirVictory: I'd always imagined a colorful cityscape under the sun with two kids sitting on a skyscraper, pointing at oddly-shaped buildings and giving them animal names.
DANCE ENERGY
@awakened-soul: Thank you sooo much!
@seronoise: Thanks for the feedback! I'm happy that the sample at least has vibrato, but the rate is a great point. The only automating I did here was volume/velocity control, some EQing and effects - definitely could be utilizing the technology more!
As for how this thing came to be, I jotted my ideas into a score first (it helps me get a feel for what I'm doing). I pretty much clicked everything into Cubase and fine-tuned the idea there, using samples that came with the program (except for the harp patch, and the piano parts which are live recorded.) I tried my best to use the character description as a guide for what to do - heroic instruments, hints of drama and tragedy inspired by his tragic past, harpsichord for sophistication, airiness since he's a wind mage... you get the idea! I probably spent 20% of my time actually writing it and 80% mixing and trying make it sound decent.
omgggg
Been listening to this nonstop. This song is super amazing and super sexy.
Love, love this part of the bassoon melody! These low winds/brass sounds are so satisfyingly rich and murky.
This piece fits the description so perfectly. And yet, slime and trash has never sounded so lovely :]
Orchestral to synths to battle rock - this piece just took my ears through a crazy journey! Awesome work.
@Zack Parrish: Aw, thank you so much! I'm so happy you guys enjoyed it :]
@docnano: Ah! I like this reference very much, too. :]
