this was done for an unfinished (more like barely started) video, to a brief that was slightly vague, slightly mixed, and for a very difficult client. it ended up being sinister and way more dramatic than needed. i reused pretty much all the elements, but this is the version i love.2ks d7 Uploaded by eesn Start following Send a message on June 19, 2009 07:54

i came up with this in two intense days of stressing about. naturally it was all rough, nobody on the other end got it, hence nobody liked it, except, i guess, me.- Leaving out the cellar door toward the lighthouse Artwork

Fog rolls in. I piloted the Monome 128 and rendezvoused with Soyuz the scrolling sequencer. I interfaced with a Eurorack Modular and collected samples from a digital Sruti Box. - Micronaut - BCO1 Artwork

I so remember the Micronauts. :) Maybe not what you were referencing, but the music matches them anyway. Nice job!

Frankly, I don't know how this song ended up with such an odd name, nor do I know have any idea what "BCO" stands for. I do remember I intentionally left the bass out of the first half, in order to build a proper melodic structure without leaning on my normal crutch. Whether that worked or not is... reminds me of the Metroid intro, super eerie! i kinda wish this melody was more like an intro to some rinsed out beats and mayhem.... could be beauiful!!!

i like how beat EQ'd maybe not ment to be flat/level sounding, but it comes across as working
-
Cheers, yeah the beat has a lot of high end percussion (bells, mallets, zils etc) which give it that twinkly high end.

Work In Progress. Get's very repetitive after 1:08, but it's still got a long way to go.- ..For Another Thousand Years Artwork

HERE i felt i needed that surfaced melody to continue for another several bars. definitely wanted that. it was like some kind of breath of air to hear that come out of an already superb composition. a track like this could continue for another 3-5 min. and that would be just...fine. another fav.

hehe, not really expected after that vocoder start. but fits great.

@Abreaktor: Yeah a lot of complaints about that intro from others. I really like the ambient build-up to the electronica/dance riff

I like this track, cool intro here - interessting development towards the digital/shortwave sounds. Quite "chilly", but different from the "mainstream"
