    The Greatest Gift
Written and composed by: Airiq (Eric A. Benner)

    A-B-A-B Form
Key of Gm

Intro - (Chord Progression: F1-D-Bb or VII first inversion -v-III)

    Verse 1 - (Chord Progression: G-Eb-F, G-Eb-Bb-F or i-VI-VII, i-VI-III-VII)

As the day passes by, and the world clogs my mind
Everything seems so empty. Everyone seems so blind
But you come to save me. You’re a welcome escape.
Whenever you’re with me, my world takes on a new shape.

    Chorus - (Chord Progression: G-Eb-Bb-F, G-Eb-D-C-D or i-VI-III-VII, i-VI-v-iv-v)

Whenever I need you, you’re always around.
When I get depressed, you help me off the ground.
When there’s pain inside, your smile clears my mind.
You’re the greatest gift ever given to me.

Repeat Intro chords - (Chord Progression: F1-D-Bb or VII first inversion -v-III)

    Verse 2 - (Chord Progression: G-Eb-Bb-F, G-Eb-Bb-F or i-VI-III-VIII, i-VI-IIII-VII)

When no one will listen, and nobody cares
You’re the first person I call on, because you’re always there.
Whenever I feel like it’s all falling apart.
You pick up the pieces, to my broken heart.

    Chorus

Great musical ideas here. I love the lyrics. I really like your style - there is sort of a throw back element to your sound that just makes it all work!
