For five years now, Kankakee County farmer Kim Snyder has been inviting cooks, farmers, artisans and brewers to her place for a day of learning, bread-breaking and slaughter. WBEZ's Monica Eng has attended the event each year, interviewing Chicago chefs and attendees about why they think its important to bear witness to the process that brings meat to their plates. But is it wise or even ok for people and kids to watch the animals they eat die in front of them? Eng joins us in studio to explore this theme.
