------------------------------------

Here is a little to know about Afshin's background in music:

- It all started with a cheap Prince electric guitar and a 35W amplifier. Afshin always had a thing for electronic sounds. It's just "How things can live these days" he says, "Electronically".

After 4 years of self-practice and learning the scales and harmonies on guitar under teachings of Shahriyar Tavakkoli and Omid Hojjat, he started his own band with couple of friends. The result was called Atrarh. It was always underground except couple of times they put out live shows. In the meanwhile, Afshin started taking classes on recording and mastering to make the band more independent and also technical. That is when they started recording their own compositions. They also were getting a little help of different synthists every here and there, but that is when Afshin got to know a bit of modern electronic music.

"In 2002, I ended up buying a M-AUDIO 24/96, a mic, a MIDIboard and a 12 channel Yamaha mixer. That was basically all i needed for the band to record our stuff. It was complete when i found out about Propellerhead Reason. Then we didn't need to ask other synth players to join us. I was already one for band."

His belief in creativity was never stopped. "I learned a lot during those days. I could feel that my taste of music growing. I was constantly selling beats to a few of my rapper friends and our band was at its place aside as well. In 2005, we had a full album, mastered, ready to release. It was influenced by Massive Attack and Bjork, something dark and deep about the community we lived in, but it never happened. It does not follow our community rules, that's what were told to but it never stopped us from what we're doing." he continues.

He has come a long way until today to make his music as its best place. By joining Th3rapy Session as a resident DJ and running his conceptual band, "The Beat Compressor", he started a new chapter in his career. "Th3rapy Session is like our Anthem. We have it managed but we take breaks every once in a while. That's when i produce. If you ask me, DJing is just a way to show my people my talent on the spot. It's become a feeling i can never give up."

To Afshin, music is a language spoken. more you know languages, more you can communicate.
