The Unknown Landscape

'The Unknown Landscape' emerged over the last year. Originally part of a song I wrote whilst riding home from 'The Music House' in Norwich UK, sometime in 2009, it gave birth to two new parts, during the heavy snows in 2010 and 2011. I think it has eventually come to a place, where it is more or less complete. I used an "Ibanez" 'Blazer' electric guitar, which I stripped down and sanded, until it was a smooth as a French polish. It eventually got signed by Stephen Stills during the CSN tour of South Africa in 2000, though the kids at the local did not believe me, at the time. I played it through a newly acquired piece of hardware, which my new youtube friend 'Bill Seper' gave me. It's a Sound Blaster Live! (Creative) and works like a dream. "Thanks so, so, so much Bill!" I fed my guitar through a Boss ME30, and I guess that's why it sounds so magical, floaty and ambient. The piece is an expression of the three modes of prayer: confession, protection and reflection. It's not to be used in place of prayer, but rather to wet your appetite for the unknown landscape.

    Zenjoy!
