You can use HPF in postproduction, 12dB/oct sounds very natural. This bass hum is simply a sound, that does not correlate to the rest. I have listened to those unidentified sounds you mentioned above - very interesting.
Wind - I see you have nice , big windscreens - don't they do their job correctly?
