"Stigmata" by Ministry is one of those tracks that has passed the test of time, an industrial music anthem from the US, on the legendary Wax Trax Records imprint.

The song has a lot of memories for me, I have danced to it on (and played it to) many dance floors over the years - at clubs like the Limelight and ManRay, at parties like Ceremony and Haven - and before that it was a favorite among my friends... we screamed along with it playing loud on the Jersey highways, with the windows down and our fists up.

It smells of leather and cloves, rebellion and sin.

I was inspired by an awesome trip back to NYC and a New England hurricane to make a glitchy new version for my upcoming Hallowe'en sets, an update with some subwoofer treatments, a frantic new kwaitech inspired beat, and a wee touch of wobble. It makes me jump around and thrash my head about, i lose my mind a little, and my eyes roll back my head... i start craving brains, and...

Well, I tried not to fuck it up too badly, in the process of fucking it up as much as i could imagine at the time, and it is of course designed to be mixed into my live dj sets.

So thanks esp to the Liar (Angelspit) and Xris SMack! in NYC for providing some unexpected impetus, and to Martin Atkins who gave me some of the loops and sounds I modified.

This is a snip-snip abridged version - at 2:30 i cut out a significantly cool chunk of audio and pasted it over to sneak a little bit of the change up in... but if you really want the experience, come hear me spin this mix and more at the Salem Vampire's Masquerade Ball on Oct 22nd, at Alex Grey's Demons and Deities party at CoSM on Oct 29th, or Dracula's Ball in Philly on Hallowe'en night!
