China’s first and only electronic dance music label, Acupuncture Records, was launched in 2007. Since their inception, Acupuncture Records has assembled China's best DJs, VJs, producers and party promoters who have originated and helped groom China's flourishing electronic music scene.

Acupuncture Records consider parties the frontline for promoting their music and fundamental for cultivating a bona fide electronic music presence in China. Organizing over 50 parties every year, Acupuncture not only provide top-notch DJ performances but also unique venue picking, special staging and stunning audio-visual shows. Their annual epic “SPOOKED” Halloween Party and “Genesis” New Years revelry each attracts over 3,000 attendees and have become household party brands among the young trendy partygoers in town. Acupuncture also hosts DJ workshops, music production showcasing and other electronic music activities with which they aim to educate the market and spread the culture. In May 2009, Acupuncture organized INTRO 2009, China’s first outdoor electronic music festival with 8,000 participants.

Meanwhile, Acupuncture has never stopped marching on the music production journey. With the release of their first EP in 2008, Acupuncture Records launched on world’s biggest DJ music download site, Beatport.com, as well as iTunes. It is the first time local DJs released through a Chinese label, and now that they are in the mix with the biggest tunes in the world, it’s a watershed moment for China’s electronic scene. Until now, Acupuncture has successfully released 3 EPs, 1 album, and has contributed to various projects of overseas labels. As their music production receives rave reviews, Acupuncture Records artists were invited to perform in various foreign countries. The 2009 Acupuncture World Tour left footprints all over the globe covering three different continents, Europe, South America and Asia.

Through event planning and music promotion, Acupuncture Records has endured to promote and support both China's music and club culture, with its name being synonymous with the local party force.
