"Child of the Earth" was inspired by a visit to the Center for Creative Chaos Gallery in Tucson, AZ, which, in its day, feaured the art of homeless artists in the area. The song reflects a conversation the songwriter had with a homeless man in which they discussed the ideal of a planet on which every child born would be welcome, from the first day to the last.
