Binaural Recording Only for Binaural (no retouch)
The evening of May 18th brought another massive concentration at Madrid's Puerta del Sol, this time prompted by the official outlawing of the occupation, and the direct threat of eviction by police.
That night, the occupation was threatened by a different problem: weather. Rain started pouring down shortly after the riot police had moved out. Still, nobody went home, as people gathered under tents and listened to the broadcast of the official declaration in many languages.
At this stage, it was clear that the small city that was being built on the square was going to remain, and that the protest had gone global: tens of other cities in Spain were taking over their squares, and Spanish citizens abroad were protesting in front of embassies all over the world.
