ACHTUNG BABY:20 YEARS YOUNG
Achtung Baby has had a remarkable influence on myself, not only as a music lover but also as a songwriter, musician and performer. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of it's release, I took a mad notion to re-record the album. I did not want to try to imitate what U2 had done because that would not be possible but I have taken some elements of the U2 versions which I admire, including material from their live repertoire and have tried to add my own twist. Above all else, I have recorded the tracks as a fan. This is a homage to an album that I love.
From 8th - 19th November 2011, I will upload a song a day. On the 19th (the 12th day for each of the 12 songs), the last song will be uploaded and the alternative Achtung Baby will be available to listen to in full for a limited period.
The Skin We're In will release a new single/album of original material early 2012 and have pencilled in a few live dates nationwide. Hope to see you there. Hope you all enjoy the Achtung album:)
