Absolace is a progressive rock/metal band based in Dubai, UAE. Absolace can best be described as a blend of highly-rhythmical and experimental
metal blended with the ambience and dynamics of progressive rock. Their sound is rounded off, and given its originality by the use of layered vocals and percussion.

The band was started in 2007 by drummer Greg Cargopoulos and guitarist Jack Skinner, who were both deeply involved in the underground rock and
metal scene in Dubai during their school days. In September 2008, Greg had composed enough material for a full album, so he entered the studio to start the recording process. The next addition to the line-up was Kyle Roberts, a UK-based music producer, and also an old friend of Greg, was added to the recording line-up to play keys and do some synth programming for a few of the songs. In November 2008 Greg flew to the UK and got started with Kyle right away. Shortly after that, the band approached Nadim Jamal, a seasoned vocalist from Beirut who had just moved to Dubai. Greg had met Nadim before and was impressed by Nadim’s taste for vocal arrangements.

The four of them then spent the next few months putting together their debut studio album. The band sent their songs to highly-acclaimed Swedish producer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Paradise Lost, Katatonia, Bloodbath, Symphony X, and more) to be mixed and mastered. The result, Resolved[d]. And this is only just the beginning….
