This track marks a bit of a return to form for me, for anyone who's been following you'll know that I've been producing some more commercial stuff for Indented Records but techy dark dnb is where it's always been at for me and with a new quad core monster of a PC I've been able to go all out with this one!
The string section is ripped straight from the Canadian cult horror film Ginger Snaps, no I hadn't heard of it before either but when I heard that beautiful haunting melody I knew it would sit perfectly in this track.
The raspy bass from the first section (after the intro) was a bit of a lucky accident, I was messing around with a bass sound feeding it through an autotuner and noticed that one certain notes it produced really weird but cool artifacts, so I bounced those bits down and then did the obligatory warm, eq, filter, export, repeat and that's it.
Aside from that no prises for guessing the Amen breaks in there, and the punchy bass that you hear through the majority of the track was a 505 tom with distortion, warming, eq etc
So all in all pretty chuffed with this one and glad to be back in the darkside ;)
