Abohotho is the Syriac (Assyrio-Aramaic) word for ‘Ancestors’. This project is a spiritual musical evocation to the majesty our great ancestors in the Levant and Mesopotamia (Bilad al-Sham wal Rafidain). Abohotho intends to; first, amuse with soothing and spiritual music based on atmospheric Near Eastern / Middle Eastern sounds, and to remind and inform the listeners of the stories of our ancestors, with a special emphasis on Assyrian, Canaanite / Phoenician, and Aramaean cultures.
‘The Primeval Evocation’ is Abohotho’s debut musical output. It is a small, but sublime 4-track EP that demonstrates the sound of the project and opens a portal to Abohotho’s upcoming full-length album.
