This is the beautiful poem read in parliament before the NSW government's apology to victims of forced adoption.

It was written and read by Lyn, a representative of mothers whose children were adopted.

Lyn is a mother whose child was adopted in a regional area of New South Wales in earlier years.

She is an advocate for many mothers and while no experience can ever be the same as another's, there are common threads.

Over many years she has written independently to minsters about the need for an apology and what an apology would mean.
