I'll be honest, I used to despise electronic music, when I was 16/17.  I assumed at the time that this was due to my being a musical purist, but in retrospect it was due purely to my limited exposure to the genre as a whole.  This changed entirely when I discovered Aphex Twin, and subsequently Squarepusher and a host of other Warp artists.  Soon afterwards I was taught how to use Fruity Loops and I endeavored to emulate my musical heroes.  I have a background in piano and guitar, which form a foundation for my basic theory and understanding.  I used FL exclusively for years, and for the most part it served my purposes.  Eventually I discovered Live, while living in Vancouver, and was schooled by my roomate in the art of DJing with vinyl.  I also managed to attain a job working as a sound tech for a DJing company in Vancouver called VIBE, which I did for about 2 years.  I was doing a lot of mixing with Ableton, and began using it as a DJing tool.  And to date, I use Live exclusively for production and performance.  I had taken a substantial break from composing music, but am now returning, using a new interface, and new methods.  I invite you to follow along with me in my musical growth, and welcome any feedback you might have.
