DJ Bone completely surprised me with this remix. You see, Ahnne Araza (Subject Detroit) made it no secret that she loves my voice -- but she REALLY loves my voice with no effect, no processing, just raw... I remember her calling me, almost in tears -- Bone had a vision of this remix that featured my voice FRONT and CENTER -- just "naked." No effects, NOTHING... (I cringed at the thought, just because I'm my own worst critic!) But when he sent it to me, it opened my eyes. It was one of those moments where I went, "wow... that's ME.. SINGING... OMG..." And then I started tearing up -- hearing this song FORCED me to accept that (wow) I DO have a voice after all -- and I can finally acknowledge the beauty in it. (You see, it was something I grew up being teased about, so believe it or not, I was actually AFRAID to sing!) Thank you DJ Bone and Ahnne Araza, for this beautiful offering. It means much more to me than you know... <3

That's a touching story... everyone needs to keep supporting the real shit!!! Sometimes we forget... but respect & love from those who know means more than any glamour and glitz... so spread it thorugh the undergound!!!

nice add-ons, I like the minimal nature of the intrusion. the voice is indeed quite great as is. the mix works, not easy to pull off, since the funk is disco here. I particularly like the bass line as the song fades off, would fit well earlier for hints of rythmic structure.

Thanks so much, you guys! I think I'm gonna have to play this for Quentin, because I haven't done so yet. But we'll definitely have to add this version to the single now! :-)
