Saturday

oh my, the heat... it bounces off the asphalt, sticks to skin and clothes and mind. and flows into the music, like heat waves into a horizon...

this one has been flowing all week, growing like a patient plant. it is very pleasant to play on the guitar or the piano with the windows open, the sun falling in and the breeze through the flowers on the balcony into the living room. these days are for humming and singing and wailing. one of the lines i wrote for 'Saturday' didn't make the song, but is worth mentioning as a coda maybe. 'I feel sad but not unfortunate'. I hope some of you share the feeling.
