A Baker’s Dozen is a journey deep into the realms of mid-tempo bass oriented music, which started many years ago and came to light in early 2011. Melbourne based musician Mark Baker was soundly bitten by the music bug early in life. Playing in everything from symphony orchestras to big bands, live drum n bass outfits to solo electronic performances, he learnt to master several instruments and audio production techniques along the way.
His influences stem from Jazz, Classical, DnB, Glitch, Dubstep, Breaks, HipHop and Avant-garde. The common denominators in his music are whomping basslines, brooding soundscapes and head nodding beats. Combine this with awe inspiring horn lines, jawdropping mashups, stuttered vocals, luscious synths, spaced out effects layers and you have the phenomenon that is core to his sound.
2012 sees A Baker’s Dozen working on his 3rd EP, which will be a solid accompaniment to his 2011 releases LOC DON and SHEDDING SKIN. Recent supports include Dysphemic, ShiKung, Obliveus, Jester Crew, Glitch This & Morebass.
Be prepared for a progressive sonic experience, which will assault your auditory senses like no other.
