I don't know about this short break-up here. The track flows well throughout except for this short segment, it feels out of place. Other than this spot, I rather dig this track.

I hope to use that layered synth in the progressing verses as a portamento & vibrato lead. Mind you, the other night I was pretty lazy & that was as far as I got. But yes, you are right, it is too up front, sudden & kills the mood.

0010-10.3.S1 10 I've been doing stuff, but the stuff I've been doing has been privately shared because I plan to compile an album if not at least an EP. Lately I've lost inspiration for the couple pieces currently on my plate, so I thought I'd make some simple trance loops because they don't ...- Maurynx Artwork

@Zygadenus: a lead in like reverse reverb might help, but i agree.. i think it sounds fine.

I'd say this is the only section of the track I really dislike. Break doesn't hold any interest for me. add another percussive layer or add another layer to bring in the drop.

I don't think this crash fits. Something with a lower tone, almost gong like.

@IDMForums Collective: replaced. & I decided to use it in subsequent places. Spot them if you can.

Cuts out a bit too harshly IMO- perhaps a bit of delay on the crash.

@IDMForums Collective: it's just the development of a new musical theme... not a drop. I felt like it was appropriate. Like a bridge to take you back into the verse-like theme - Fid

crash sounds cheesy. I need something on that downbeat. Perhaps I can manipulate that crash somehow to make it fit better.
- IDMForums Collective on April 28, 2009 03:47
@Zygadenus: Just add a space designer, Wet @ 50% dry at 75% and reverse the imulse, it'll create a sweeping bed from the same range of frequencies and fill in the gaps

This reverb will be reversed because I like the feel of it better. However, to avoid the sudden cutoff, I will need a verb the other way as well.
- IDMForums Collective on April 28, 2009 03:48
@Zygadenus: Really gorgeous track, not sure if I like the verb out, would like to see it cut out drier maybe.

@overbyte: Actually I've done a little bit on this track. I've taken out the sampled choir just because of the timbre of it. I'm working on some moving Massive presets for it as well as some other elements. Expect it to keep the same structure & length.

This track is NOWHERE NEAR completion. No, it is not mastered at all. No, I do not have nessesary automation/VSTs on some of my sampling. This song has been going nowhere since August I think. I post it up as a reminder that I should finish it someday. Comments are obviously welcome, but will pro... - Brook of Algid Dreams Artwork

It's borderline corny with the piano melodies that jump upward, partially because of the lack of low end...I think this is the section that needs the most work on the piano automations, at least make it a bit warmer.

I love this section, but I feel as though it's a replica of the intro, I would add maybe a distorted kick, a rolling high hat, or even a half-step break to drive the track along.

This may very well be the best track I have yet heard here on Soundcloud. The build up and layers are quite incredible, the piano section is gorgeous, and the track itself flows from one section to another in a very fluid manner. Congratulations, sir.

Great outro, however that upper midrange frequency is either too hot in the mix or needs a bit of EQ.
