About
Freshly imported from San Francisco, Gano is now one of the fastest growing names in the West Coast dance music scene, playing major Vancouver/Victoria clubs and B.C. festivals. In the last year alone, his name has appeared alongside such artists as: Deep Dish, Junkie XL, Vandalism, Gaudi, Terry Francis, and Kenny Glasgow. Also, Gano’s been busy releasing original productions via his joint venture with Kevin Legere called Double Dog Dare. Add his induction into Sunset Collaborations, and you wonder how he finds time for his day job as a professional poker player.
It's all about the music. He lives for the beats. Often dropping epic 6+ hour sets, the party never ends. The music, the culture, and the people that love it engulf him. And reveling in this rapidly expanding community, he performs, produces, learns, teaches, dances, and listens for that future sound. It's been one hell of an adventure so far, and we've only just begun. :-)
So how do you describe the Gano sound? Well it derives from decades spent absorbing major scenes across North America. Eclectic's an understatement as it spans so many genres: from groovy tech-house to melodic techno to massive electro to jazzy hip-hop to dubby downtempo. Fans describe it as "fun" or even "circusy", and it often features a playful organic vibe, a bouncing bass line, and a whole lotta funk.
