At the age of 14, front man Carlos Canseco was packing South Texas rock venues. It was there he caught the attention of drummer Carlos “Curly” Castillo (as featured with Greg Bissonette - featured drummer off the David Lee Roth “Van Halen” solo album - and Grammy Award-Winning percussionist, Nina Rodriguez).
By 2008, Canseco and Castillo were performing and writing for top100 MySpace artist, “Krystal Blue,” and other national acts, sharing the stage with Maroon5, AlterBridge, Everclear, Latin sensation Molotov, and Brett Michaels.
Canseco relocated to Los Angeles, California in 2009 to hone his skills and cultivate a new network. By 2010, he received his Associates of Arts degree from Musicians Institute and began assisting at the Beverly Hills Gibson Guitar Showroom. It was there he collaborated with Gibson artists and began the fierce, up and coming act: SECO.
SECO began early 2011, based out of Hollywood with Scandinavian musicians Rebecca Krogmann (KingQueen, Mischief), and Tom Asvold (Polarization). SECO debuted at RollingStone LA as a rock power trio with a quickly-formed, strong turnout; followed by more performances at world renowned venues such as the ViperRoom and House of Blues.
Mid-tour, feeling uneasy about his path, Canseco began to re-evaluate his music and career; thus, began writing new material for SECO - ‘a whole new vision,’ Canseco explains.
Texas is SECO’s new home with Canseco leading. As of the new year, 2013, SECO has already released a YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/CansecoMusic ), is aligning special performances in popular clubs and venues, and collaborating online.
SECO is currently working with StudioM (http://www.studiomus.com/), and Ready Revolution. Watch for SECO on the internet and local radio.
