The albums purified sound, where intense groove are blended with stuttering melodies, questions our hidden sensitive soul. 9th Cloud announces, with this first album, an intuitive and personal approach to composing with a real concern for detail as well as simplicity.

“A Monkey in a Yellow Hat” is a spontaneous and contemplative project of the fusion of such influences like Jazz, Soul as well as inspiration and respect from his “role models” Krush, Cam, Shadow, and Pete Rock among others. Taking into consideration a hard to define musical identity, which together, produce’s the following result: an echo of raw emotions. Digging through the out of date “soundbanks” of vinyl’s, 9th Cloud found stimulation for their melodic compositions, evoking urban as well as melancholic moods. 9th Cloud “creates” sound, re-appropriates the existing, digesting it in order to create its own musical universe, giving the occasion for one to let themselves go and admit the pleasure of the unexpected.
