About
808StyLee, also known as Jamison Yergler, was born September 28th, 1990 in Amarillo, Texas.
Starting out as a fan and a listener, Jamie first declared his interest in house and electro beats at age 16. His initial interest was snagged by dance floor destroyers Kaskade, Adam K, Deadmau5, and DJ Tiesto. Soon after breaking the seal, this hobby became an addiction, using free time to find new songs and see how they sounded on the family owned 5.1 surround sound. After learning there was so much to explore and so many directions music could take, Dubstep, House, and Electro became his favorite genre's.
With a friend and musician (Rhetorik) already producing and mixing in the same atmosphere, there came a time where listening on a small level was not enough, so Jamie went ahead and bought some Pro Audio gear for future live performances and to be able to work on his own music and mixing skills during the downtime. Mixing like crazy for a few weeks straight, he quickly began to realize that mixing live would only be half the battle, because all good dj's produce their own music.
His motivation came from a creative imagination and a desire to start adding in his own bass heavy rhythms for everybody to enjoy. 2 years into college later, after going to countless concerts, mimicking and mastering old and new techniques, Jamie decided to pull the trigger and buy his own performing gear and fully make a name for himself. Jamie chose 808StyLee as a DJ/Producing Alias due to 808 being a commonly used drum sample, as well as being the police code for a noise disturbance. His older brother Jason put a twist on the word style, and it stuck from then on out. Jamie's loud and constantly changing lifestyle deemed the name only appropriate for a start.
He started mixing during the summer of 2011 and independently producing in the winter of 2011. Going to school at Notre Dame De Namur University in Belmont, California, Jamie is currently a junior and aspires to get his BS in Business administration. For the time being, Jamie is developing his interests in music, producing, and live sound. He developed significant skills in building speaker cabinets for both Car and Pro Audio since the start of his high school career, and continues building savage machines of nasty, grimy, downright illegal bass production. This accumulation of Pro Audio Equipment allowed him to establish "JDY Sound Designs", and push the name into the public for some attention on his sound production abilities, which are only getting bigger by the months.....
He is currently refining his live performance skills and just initializing into the huge production world.Stay tuned for tracks, until then, enjoy the mixes!
