I'm a guy who goes by the names of 7 Minutes Dead, and Alex, living near Dallas TX, aged 25 years as of the beginning of 2013. I've played drums since I was 4 when my dad bought me a tiny little drumset, and I stuck with it. Never stopped, still play drums to this day, but over the past 2 years or so producing has slowly consumed my creative life. I've been on and off at producing for about 5 years, but the past 2 years have been very focused, inevitably leading me to releasing an EP and another single through the wonderful label Monstercat, and finally starting my "official" path towards my dream, which of course is taking over the world. But you were thinking what I was thinking. Right? ;)
Now I sit in my lair creating more..
I'm a PC gamer. No consoles owned since the first XBox.
I love Quentin Tarantino's work. I ESPECIALLY love Christolph Waltz.
I smile a lot. Just a habit, but I think people like when others smile.
I get along with everyone.
I fill out my music profile like a goddamn OKCupid profile.
I like to curse, a lot, but usually only in a comic intention. "Goddamnit" is a particularly funny word/phrase.
I like to stick to the mindset of fear being 100% imaginative, though it often requires a self-reminder. This of course does not include real, present fear. For example, a lion in range of eating you. Or spiders.
I'm fairly carefree and rarely get mad, unless it's playing games, because I tend to get competitive there.
I wish the music world wasn't so engrossed in the competitive atmosphere, that way expectations were rarely set high by the listener, that way artists would be truly free to express whatever they wanted and felt, and the listener would never be subject to self-induced, or peer-induced disappointment. But the pressure inevitably alters the creative mind, and thus requires a conscious effort to pursue what would otherwise be an unconscious result. And while the effort itself is a respectable trait in my mind and among many others, I also respect anyone who simply pursues their happiness in an honest manner. Honesty is also very respectable, as it is also not an easy thing to do.
I like to think about how long the universe had to expand, how many stars had to explode, how many atoms and molecules had to come together and interact, how many millions and billions and trillions of years for the chance and odds for whatever happened to inevitably lead to, whether intentionally or accidentally, intergalactic climates shifts in such a way to form our galaxy, to form our star, to form our planet, to form our atmosphere, to form our surroundings, to form our kind, our brains, our electrical impulses and chemical composition, to form us as we know ourselves today, to lead to cultural shift and evolution, to lead to the development of technology, to lead us to this moment in time, this one giant conclusion to the greatest story that has ever been and may ever be told, to climax to the point in one human's life that results in that human forming what we know today as the Twerk.
I love Sonic the Hedgehog, and have ever since around the same age I got my first drumset.
I hope to meet you one day, and I hope you get to see me play live one day.
