Live (upstairs) at the Albert Inn 26th January 1991.
I seem to remember that we were top of the bill, on an evening of improvised musics.
The piano is on the backing tape, running on the Tascam portastudio. Paul had asked me to prepare some backings. This seems to me to bring full circle our live output, in as much as our very first serious live recording, Broken Pipes Exposed 1, just over ten years earlier, also used backing tapes.
As with the Le Cav performance, there was no rehearsal or soundcheck that I can recall.
Paul's reflections on this gig can be heard on letter 56A at the end of "Rob reading letters from Paul - Part 3 of 3".
This would be the last time I would ever play with Paul.
As I listen for the first time in 20 years to this recording, I think I can hear Diana's voice and this gives me the thought that she attended the concert! I must ask her!
