The vocals could be brought up in the mix more, the synths sound like they pushing them back in the mix.

This part with the lead synth would sound phat if you layered it.

This track will stand out so much better if you used the Velocity and changed the dynamics of the piano, vox-synth and drums for this intro section.

@5oh!: I wish I could tell you. I am listening on shitty headphones, so all of this could be pretty deceptive. However, the trick to mixing is this: if the mix doesn't sound more than half-way decent on shitty headphones, something is off. That should be a test for you. Do you have a really nice set of phones? If you do, this is the most important piece of equipment. Fuck VSTs, fuck DAWs, fuck plug-ins, etc. If you don't have a good set of phones you are screwed from the get go. If you do have a good set of phones, I would suggest also purchasing a piece-of-shit set. Mix first with the nice ones, and then listen back with the shitty ones. The better things sound on the shitty ones, the better off your production is gonna be. Ultimately, though, I couldn't tell you with this mix. All I know is that there is too much bass overriding the other frequencies. I think your Adele mix was better, personally.

@I VV P Labs: no comments mean a lot honestly, still learning how to mix. Reckon its a step up from my previous mixes?

@I VV P Labs: I will say this, though, what I can hear of the piano...well, I don't know if that was your addition or that was already part of the tune, but I love the piano section. I don't know this tune, but it adds something real special to the piece.

@I VV P Labs: Granted, my good headphones broke, so I am not listening on an ideal platform.

I hate to keep criticizing, but the drums are way too loud in the mix. They are killing all your high frequency stuff, as are the sub that you have added on the song. I am wondering if you set the levels here? It is very bass heavy, but so much so that everything kinda mushes together... Especially when you do the double bass parts, the sound, aside from the kick is nearly inaudible, it just sounds like a bunch of sounds washed together without any coherence.

Not really feeling the vocal pads here, man. Sorry. They sound way too synthetic, and there is a static cut with every key shift.
