After three season's working in Ibiza, watching the world's best dj's play in some of the greatest clubbing venues in the world... Bryan Salkeld decided he wanted to experience life on the other side of the decks! Within weeks of returning to Manchester he started collaborating with old friend and fellow music enthusiast Steven Barlow and after securing a pair of turntables at the end of 2009... 5eighty6 were born!

The lads from Manchester have come a long way in a short space of time, and if the last 12 months are anything to go by, these two young artists are just warming up.
5eighty6 are making a name for themselves on the dj circuit, they are residents at Manchester’s hottest new night Limbo playing along side DJ's such as Anthea, Butch, Alex Celler, Carlo Lio, Leon, Inland Knights, H2, Clockwork,Huxley, Seuil, Yakine, Ethyl, Geddes, Henrik Schwartz and Axel Boman. Also playing at Sankeys in Manchester various times, tpot (Manchester) and Monocult (Leeds) their reputation in the north west has began to grow and grow.

Being brought up on the sounds of Motown by there parents and listening to Rap, Hip Hop and garage growing up together, the duo incorporate these different genres into their DJ sets by using a blend of deep, driving, acid influenced house, upbeat vocals and heavy baselines. Their hard work over the past 2 years earnt the boys 2 gigs in Ibiza playing at Kanya and also playing at the brand new Sankeys Ibiza, making it onto the Monza lineup and playing along side Shaun Reeves and Lauhaus. Now startin to produce thier own tracks be sure to keep an eye out for the Manchester based duo as the future is lookin very bright.
