COMMENTS - In 1986, 54-40 were signed to Warner Bros. in Los Angeles. 54-40 had just produced the Green record with a remix and Warner wanted 2 more LPs after that. In preparation for that second LP (Show Me) we sent them a demo of new material at hand. Funny thing is – until recently I did not remember making that demo.

The demo was found in our storage locker and I have had the pleasure of re-living those early memories. I have always felt that Show Me took a wrong turn in production. I’ve lived the Melanie song ( “Look What They've Done To My Song Ma”). In any event, I’ve undertaken to mix those demos and boot ‘em up for you hear. The first one to check out is a song that didn’t make the cut called “I Feel Something”. This exemplifies the groove and rhythm 54-40 was into at that time. Every band that can call themselves a band has a “sound”. An important part of that sound is the collective “feel” of the rhythm and groove. Discovering that “pocket” sends a band on a creative path, for it’s the engine that moves the music. Enjoy and please leave us your comments!
