It's not by chance that those 4 Parisians got their name from the imaginary town where cult film The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, aka the first horror movie ever made, takes place. Both Leviathan's freaky atmospheric rock and Guilt Of Memories and its haunting melody take us on a trip through a savage and stylized hypernuit, where sounds, cold and precise, collide with psychedelic and punk explosions.

From Robert Wiene's tormented film, the band derives an intense - almost erotic at times - romanticism, not far from the morbid vitality of say Porcupine from Echo and The Bunnymen. The 4 tracks on this EP, the first release by the band, are built like a gothic city (another movie comes to mind, Dark City), a universe made of sounds and fury, with an architecture both mineral and endless, gaseous and intimate. Welcome to Holstenwall.

Le Podium is a new series of EP. The concept is deceitfully simple: up&coming beautiful ultra talented French bands on a mission. 4 unreleased tracks. 4 hits. Each volume will be release digitally and on a marvelous super limited colored 10" luxurious vinyl. Holstenwall is Le Podium 3rd release, after La Femme and Splash Wave.
