Jiibay’s musical career was deeply enriched by her Ojibway Native American heritage. As a child, from the time she was able to walk, she was introduced to Native American dancing and the music of her People. At age 9 she began to play classical instruments; piano and violin. When she was a teenager, she studied music theory and began to compose music incorporating the Native American flute along with other sound elements, field recordings and chants.

Today, Jiibay composes electronic music of all genres, mainly electronica, ambient, dubstep and breakbeat incorporating her Native American sound elements and by playing all the instruments herself; she also collaborates with other artists, she is a co-composer of Electric Skyy Music and has recently developed her own style of music called Jii-Music.
