View allThe passing of the National Defense Authorization Act, signed into law on December 31, 2011 (while everyone was busy preparing to celebrate opening the New Year) marked the latest & biggest blow to the Constitution of the United States of America we've seen in history. Within it is the provision that American citizens can be detained, indefinitely, without due process of law (i.e. trial by jury), and by the U.S. military no less, on just even the government's feeling (not even confirmation) that a citizen mightbe a threat to the country, and can put you away for as long as they wish...or even take you out permanently. Throw in the potential passing of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), which is really a cover for the beginning of censoring the Internet--the last place freedom of speech and expression exists, and you have a serious problem about to brew in the world.
I am only one person. A musician armed with nothing but my skills in production, my imagination, and my inner conviction to use my gift not just for entertainment but to also raise awareness and maybe inspire people to wake up and see what is happening in the world and do something about it. I chose to use this speech by the late president John F. Kennedy because it could have very well been given today and made perfect sense. In fact, this was an excerpt taken from a 20-minute speech he gave on April 27th, 1961, addressing the American Newspaper Publishers Association in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New York.
Some believe this was the speech that had him marked for his assassination 2 1/2 years later. The point of this track is not to speculate on that, although it makes for an interesting consideration. But no, this is about the FACTS of what is happening now, here at the opening of 2012, and as an American who cares about "We the People", I thought it was most fitting to have one of America's former and greatest leaders to capture and articulate the sentiment that is shared by the vast majority of Americans who are against the unconstitutional NDAA, SOPA, and the one that kicked it all off, the [un]Patriot Act.
The title is double-meaning. The first is obvious, the other is:
"Justice Freedom Knowledge 2012".

I appreciate your comments, thank you :) And what I find very ironic & strange, at this point, is that YouTube sent me an email saying that MY original music may have matched someone else's work (i.e. Content ID/copyright holder). How crazy is that?? Here I am, the creator of the music, have the master file to prove I did it, and they say it may be someone else's? And of all that I've posted of my music online, the first time I post something political, and actually speaks out against the stripping of freedom of speech and censorship via NDAA and SOPA, they pull this number? LOL It's like a message to me that just making a song & video is not enough to protest, so they want me to really show & prove lo smh Learning quickly, I am...

You are on point using this interview, he was the one and only president that stood up for american people. very relevant in today's climate.

Thank you all, again, and thanks for the continued support on your blog @PhilipClark :) This track is definitely is more so for it's message than musical content, but I had to add the music to get people's interest who may not normally sit through a speech. Freedom of Speech and expression is very important to me as it is with any artist, so we must keep that freedom going. To attempt passing an act called 'Stop Online Piracy Act" or SOPA may seem good on the surface b/c it "supposed" to stop the entertainment industry from losing money, but when you also include the power to censor the Internet in the way that China can, for instance, for whatever reason, then there is a different agenda altogether. And wasn't it piracy that essentially created the iTunes, which I'm sure Apple is not upset about lol In other words, these things balance themselves out, but the "powers that be" have their own agenda. Also, look out for the "Protecting IP Act" or PIPA. America (and the world)..pay attention and WAKE UP!
