This is about as basic a remix as I've ever done, and one which initially was supposed to be in time to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the passing of one of R&B's most brightest and beautiful stars who was just coming into her own but was taken too early. As the title suggests, she is truly "one in a million", and although I didn't put very much time into this one, I hope its simplicity is appreciated just the same. It's not one of my best examples of my work, but it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't post it, and it (more importantly) gives room to highlight the brilliance of Aaliyah's beautiful vocals that made her stand above many, artistically. Anyway, enough disclaimers...just press "play".

Thank you, again, for the recent comments. What I really enjoyed about making this remix is that I really got to hear just how good Aaliyah was, without all the beats and bass from the original and know that she was truly talented. I could only imagine how great she would have been at this point if she were still alive.

Thank you all for the kind comments, and I know some asked for a download but it's not yet to my standard for an actual release, though it's decent for a rough draft post (sorry, didn't mean to tease). There are some production issues that are very obvious to me that need to be addressed before I release it (if you have strong sub-bass in your systems, you'll discover as I did after the fact that the latent bass from the original leaked into her vocals from the recording that I don't know if I can remove as yet. Plus, I can do a better string piano arrangement towards the end ;) If it ain't right, it just ain't right till it is lol

Glad you all like it, and yeah, I love the original, too, but I felt in consideration of her passing, a softer, more reflective approach might be fitting :)

I really like the original, but I love how you turned it into a softer more beautiful version. Really nice work on this one!
