21 SENSES BIO
21 Senses, based in New York City, started playing acoustic guitar at 13 and by 15 was sight-reading jazz bass, and by 16 had started his second band.
In 2009, he worked with Serge Devant on his LP release on Ultra Records, “Wanderer,” co-writing the song “People” feat. Kyle as well as playing guitar on both that song and on “Shadow,” feat. Second Sun.
21 Senses has developed his own style through a blend of genres that have influenced his music, which vary from melodic dubstep to downtempo trip-hop and breakbeat style electronica. He uses Ableton Live for production, while also playing live acoustic guitar and live electric bass, and occasionally, vocals.
After having signed with Candy Bass Records (London, UK) over the summer of 2012, 21 Senses' debut release, an EP entitled “Emperor,” was released worldwide on September 27, 2012. Title-track “Emperor,” is a hard-hitting melodic dubstep track, unique in its melody with tinges of trance influence. There are also several tracks with more rumbling basslines, but also the ethereal and sometimes acoustic beauty of his chillstep tracks, often featuring lush strings and angelic keys. “Machine” offers up yet another variation on 21’s style and is the only song on which he records lead vocals. The EMPEROR EP is 7 of my most recent original tracks, including "EMPEROR," the title track. The EP opens with "FREEBASS," an uplifting mellow dubstep track featuring what else, bass. Some of my best work is the Chillstep stuff, like "KUALA LUMPUR." "MACHINE" is the only track written before 2012 and the only one where I sing full vocals (ha, who'd have thought?) and "I NEED A NEW DRUG" is a nice closer to the EP. After Sept 13, it will be available on itunes, Beatport, and just about every online music store worlwide. Hope you enjoy it!
